Project Updates – Security Fence & Lanai Covering

Aloha Saint Mark Parents,

I hope and pray you all are doing well and have enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break.  I am writing with an update regarding the installation of our (1) security fencing/gates and (2) lanai patio covering.  *This message includes important details for parents to share with their child(ren) as they head back to school on Monday*

(1) SECURITY FENCE & GATES
After six weeks, the majority of the fencing project is complete with the successful installation of the two gates and approximately 90% of the fence.  The remaining section of the fence (located at the entrance of the property) is scheduled to be completed in the latter part of April.  The delay is due to supply chain issues with some of the outstanding fencing materials. Although the fence is not yet complete, the gates are fully functional and will be closed & locked after hours to help secure the property.

The majority of the front facing fence is complete

The fence along the left side of the campus is 100% complete

(2) LANAI / PATIO COVERING
As some of you may know, constructing a permanent covering for the patio area immediately outside the church is part of Saint Mark’s master improvement plan.  It’s a project (along with the security fence) that has been in the works for quite some time. And we are happy to share that because we recently received our Building Permit along with the materials (shipped from Japan), the installation has begun in earnest this past week.

Thus far, approximately 50% of the installation has been completed with the entire project scheduled to be done in another week to ten days.  As such, the patio area is currently off limits to all students, families and staff. We have delineated/secured the work area with a perimeter fence that provides a safe student/family passage area along the right side of the ELC – between the ELC and the church patio (please see picture below).  Staff will be positioned along the fenced area during Monday’s drop off to safely direct the students.

Students are to use the area indicated by the arrows

Thank you so much for your patience, cooperation and support of these important improvement projects.

Please be sure to reach out to the office should you have any questions or concerns.

Aloha, Mahalo and Blessings,

David Gaudi
